  2. For instance, ORS 135.747 is off the books as of April 1, 2014 as per the state legislature. I'd like to flag it or add a note or comment but I cannot - perhaps either a comment section with login or a way to contact you would be great.

  10. Generally, the text of the ORS seems to be missing apostrophes. For instance, ORS 105.580 says "director or the directors designee" twice.

  13. I am a college graduate and human factors engineer and I can't understand the legalese that laws are written in. It would be wonderful for someone to provide a plain language transcript. Isn't that already required via the Plain Language Act of 2010?

  14. It’s extremely important to me that the website is accessible to all people, regardless of any disabilities they may have, or web browsers they might use. In parallel with the other tasks, I am surveying the current accessibility standards (Section 508, WAI, etc.), deciding which are the most appropriate, and implementing them.

  15. During sessions, add new laws to Oregonlaws.org as soon as they pass one chamber or the other, the final law as sent to the governor, and the final law as signed.

  16. Until recently, chapter contents pages grouped sections under the headings used in the published ORSs. For example, the ORS 659A contents page had section headings Definitions, Purpose And Policy, Unlawful Employment Discrimination..., etc. Now, only the Definitions section heading is displayed.

Also, your old Chapter 659A title matched the statute: Chapter 659A Unlawful Discrimination in Employment, Public Accommodations and Real Property Transactions; Administrative and Civil Enforcement

Your new Chapter 659A titile is tuncated to: Chapter 659A Unlawful Discrimination in Employment, Public Accommodations

  17. Make the search feature take one directly to the statute when one enters what is clearly a statute. For example, if one searches for "ORS 112.735" or even just "112.735," the search feature should just pull up the page for that statute, perhaps with a link to search for documents containing the term. Like when you enter "1 + 1" at Google: it recognizes the search as a math problem and takes you to a page with an answer (since that is what you most likely want), but also gives an option to search for pages containing the term.

    Alternatively,…

Not a bad idea. Thanks. Currently, I solve this problem by making sure that this direct hit is the first in the result list. Implementing your idea might require some complicated UI design work. E.g., the statute page would need space to offer the option to go to further search results.
